  Conservative Humanism

Humanism - a late development as far as a philosophies go. Most systems of life are grounded on a belief in some supreme being. Quietly, Humanism has brought about many of the secular rights currently enjoyed in our Western Democracies. However, starting in the mid Twentieth Century, Humanism took a turn away from many of its historical axioms and even forgot the absolute conviction of valuing human life. On demand abortion, Euthanasia, and religious Environmentalism began to blight Humanism. The result is Secular Humanism which condones killing the unborn, the old, and often does not support science, knowledge, civilization or democracy. Furthermore, Secular Humanism has become a slave to pessimism and is elitist.
Conservative Humanism branches off 19th Century American Humanism and proceeds to adapt to our current civilization without forgetting or distorting the primary premises of Humanism. Once again the optimistic view that knowledge can improve the human experience drives Conservative Humanism.
This Web Site is dedicated to be a resource for Conservative Humanist. If Humanism is to advance beyond the fringe of mainstream belief systems it must shed the corruptions from the last Century and show that in America there is an alternative to the theistic philosophies that dominate the American landscape.
